Meet Our Principal

We are proud to have Ms. Eliza Figueroa as the Principal of Public School 147.  Ms. Figueroa is a product of the community she serves, bringing with her a dedicated, strong and genuine appreciation for diversity and inclusion.  Ms. Figueroa believes that every child deserves a high-quality education that nurtures their potential. Her approach focuses on data-driven decision-making and building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Ms. Figueroa started her New York City Public School career 26 years ago, taking on various roles.  Her career began as a Classroom Teacher, School Counselor, Assistant Principal and now Principal of our school. Ms. Figueroa continues to demonstrate her love for education and community engagement by building strong and equitable partnerships.  Her experience in educational leadership and commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment demonstrate her passion and enthusiasm in helping to shape the future of our youngest learners.  Her educational background consists of multiple degrees and licensures.
